I was discussing this with my friends, and we all came to the conclusion that she may not look the part now, but she might with a good hair dye, a few less pounds (Katniss is supposed to be skeletal) and make up.
And so since I have some (very vague) skills in photoshopping, I decided to try to get a better idea of what JL would look like as a brunette. So, um. Here:
I removed a strand of hair that was lying on her right cheek, so if it looks like she has facial hair... She actually doesn't (sorry, Jennifer).
I think she already looks a lot more like Katniss than in, say... This picture:
What do you think?

Hmm... I cannot say that I have heard of her before. But I admit, I'm liking your photoshop skills :)
I love how you came upon your blog name. I tried to tie everything together as well. Books, steampunk, & my Madness became Mad Steampunkery & Book Reviews and I must say, I love every min of it!

I can't wait for the movie!!
And I love your blog. Too cute!
Hmmm...I still unsure of her as Katniss. I think she will be a good actress but I worry that she will be too old to play Katniss by the time they make Mockingjay.
Nic: I'm not so worried. We've seen Hollywood work wonders before, and it's rather common to cast people in their twenties to play teens nowadays.
Plus, she appears to be a good actress (I've never seen any movies she was in, so I can't say for myself, but pretty much everyone I've talked to who has agrees on this) and I have to say I would much rather watch an actress who can act who looks a bit too old, than someone who looks perfect but is either too inexperienced or a bad actress.
She does look much better in your photoshopped version. I'm still a little skeptical, but I'm willing to wait and see!
Bad Photoshop skills? I don't think so. That looks great to me. I can actually see her as Katniss now.
I think she's pretty cute and hopefully will make a great Katniss. She definitely looks more like how I picture her with brown hair.
