Follow Friday is a weekly meme hosted by Parajunkee's View.
This week's question:
"Do you have anyone that you can discuss books with IRL? Tell us about him/her?"
Sadly, no. At least not in depth. I can squee/rave/rant about books with some of my friends, but since none of them are as obsessed with books as I am, it gets tiring pretty quickly (for them and for me), so I just don't do it.
The Book Blogger Hop is a weekly event that enables people to hop all over each other make new friends and be enthusiastic about books in general. Join the fun! Go over at Crazy for Book.
This weeks question is:
"Pick a character from a book you are currently reading or have just finished and tell us about him/her."
I read Saving Francesca two days ago and I think this book is worth featuring in a Blog Hop, don't you think?
I'm going to talk about Mia (coincidentally, I'm reading If I Stay right now, and the narrator is called Mia as well).
Sigh. Mia. I loved, loved the way she was portrayed in the book. Like you could see Francesca was mad at her, but it was written in such a way that you had perspective and knew the narrator was exaggerating. Just how do I describe Mia?
She's such a force of nature. Loud, exuberant and blunt. Smart and hilarious and such a good mother, even though her daughter doesn't see it right away in the midst of all the teen angst. She's the kind of woman you respect. Yes, even in a book. What can I say? I take my book characters seriously.
Who's your "wow, I love her/him" character?

She sounds like a great character! Have a good weekend!
When I got my new job, I actually found a friend from a competing company to share my love of books with. Makes a huge difference to talk to someone who is interested in what you read! I'm already a follower. My FF is at Coffee Table Reviews
I just wrote about a character named Mia too! Weird. New follower. Love your blog.
Loved your blog!!
Happy hopping! =D
Isn't the blogging community great when you don't have too many IRL people to talk with?! I'll talk books any day, lol. :-)
Happy Friday!
Great character choice.
Stop and see mine and my giveaways.
Sounds like an interesting character. Right now I really like Katsa from Graceling, very strong heroine.

Hopping through. I loved Saving Francesca. You're right about Mia. I hope she gets back to her old self some day.

Mothers dealing with teen angst. They probably deserve the most respect even if they are just characters in a novel.
